Tyrese Shade’s goal gives Eastleigh victory at Solihull

Tyrese Shade’s early strike was enough to give Eastleigh a 1-0 National League victory at promotion-chasing Solihull.

The visitors took a 10th-minute lead after striker Shade got in behind and rounded goalkeeper Killian Barrett before being rewarded for his persistence after his initial attempts to find the back of the net were blocked.

Moors’ midfielder Jamey Osborne saw appeals for a 24th-minute penalty waved away after he had gone down in the box but Barrett had to save from Shade at the other end after a pacy break.

John Bostock blasted over before Conor Wilkinson also cleared the bar from distance as the home side pushed for an equaliser and it took a goal-line block by Shade to deny Fletcher Holman, who then tested keeper Joe McDonnell.

Holman had a chance to snatch a point at the end when he went through on goal but McDonnell was equal to the task to cement victory for the visitors.
