Halifax too strong for Eastleigh

Goals from Billy Waters, Will Smith and Adam Alimi-Adetoro handed Halifax a 3-1 National League victory over Eastleigh.

Waters put the hosts ahead with 27 minutes gone when he bundled home Adam Senior’s effort at the far post.

They doubled their tally on the stroke of half-time after Smith powered home a header from Florent Hoti’s cross.

The visitors attempted to force their way back into the game after the break but they were dealt a further blow when Alimi-Adetoro dispatched Adan George’s 61st-minute cross to make it 3-0.

Richard Brindley reduced the deficit with eight minutes remaining but there was no way back.
