Stockport made it two wins from two by beating Blackpool 3-0 in a gritty clash at Bloomfield Road.
In a busy second half, County’s Louie Barry, Jayden Fevrier and Tanto Oloafe all produced smart finishes to give Dave Challinor’s side maximum points.
In a physical first half, both teams were missing a final pass going forwards. Barry was certainly Stockport’s danger man, striking a post in the 40th minute, and Kyle Wootton sent a header over the crossbar during six minutes of stoppage time.
Blackpool’s Ashley Fletcher had a goal ruled out for offside early in the second half, but the opener came for Stockport from Barry in the 68th minute.
The Aston Villa loanee danced in from the left flank and fired a fine shot past Dan Grimshaw from the edge of the area.
County controlled the game from then on. Substitutes Fevrier and Olaofe both struck in the last 10 minutes to confirm the victory and move Stockport top of the fledgling table.
