Limerick athlete to compete for team Ireland in world muay thai youth games

Thomas McMahon will compete for team Ireland in the world muay thai youth games in Thailand

LIMERICK's very own Thomas Mc Mahon will travel to Bangkok, Thailand to compete for team Ireland in the World Muay Thai Youth Games.

Thomas, from Castleconnell, and training at EastSide gym with coach Calvin Ross, had an incredible 2023 season, successfully winning three major titles in the sport.

McMahon won gold at the World Muay Thai Youth Games in Venice back in June before going on to win the U16 WBC Muay Thai Celtic title at the Barnsley Metrodome in August.

Not content with two major title wins, Thomas continued on his winning streak by bringing home his second WBC Muay Thai Celtic title by beating Zac Sim’s of Scotland in Newcastle the same month.

The Castleconnell native will travel to one of the world's top training facilities in Phuket before competing for team Ireland at the start of February in the Lumpinee Stadium in Thailand.
