ONE of Limerick's most exciting underage soccer stars, Madison McGuane has signed for Treaty United's Carelon Academy after departing Pike Rovers.
The 14-year-old midfielder came through the club ranks at Pike Rovers schoolboy teams and was the only girl on the U12 boys Pike Rovers team in 2022 who famously won the National Cup.
McGuane was one of the Pike goalscorers in the 2-0 victory over St Kevins Boys.
McGuane, who attends Ardscoil Mhuire in Corbally, has also had an impressive international career and was one of two girls from Limerick girls to be part of the Republic of Ireland Schools U15 side during the Bob Docherty Cup squad last March.
She scored four goals this year for her country in Irish under 15 and Irish under 16 games, and is now progressing well with a move to under 17 League of Ireland level with Treaty United Carelon Academy.
U17 girls academy manager at Treaty United, Marie O’Meara (Curtin) was delighted with the new signing stating: "Madison is a top player with a huge football career ahead of her. She is developing at a rapid rate and we’re delighted to welcome her to the club.
"Her quick feet, athleticism, and ability to bring everyone around her into the game is exceptional. She has a wicked eye for a goal! She is one of Ireland’s top prospects for International football and is worth coming out to watch her perform."
Madison's former club Pike Rovers have also expressed their well wishes for their former player.
Wishing Madison the very best of luck as she embarks on the next chapter of her outstanding football career to date. From the small sided blitzes at the age of 7 this young lady was always destined to go further and we are delighted to have played a big part in her development. https://t.co/YME6Tu0Hng
