THE recent Golfers Guide to Ireland Awards Dinner at the 5-Star Glenlo Abbey Hotel in Co Galway, featured a stellar lineup.
RTE's Golf correspondent Greg Allen, skilfully served as the Master of Ceremonies, presenting Awards in the following categories, Links, Parkland, Resort, Clubhouse, Golf Manager, Hidden Gem and 9 Hole.
Limerick's Ballyneety Golf Club scooped the Best Hidden Gem in Munster 2024 accolade at the prestigious awards. The championship golf course at Ballyneety is set on 183 acres of rolling Irish countryside.
Co-designed by 2014 Ryder Cup Vice-Captain, Des Smyth and Irish Amateur International, Declan Branigan, the course opened for play in 1994.
Special Guest Roddy Carr, from the legendary Carr golf family in Sutton, added to the evening's prestige participating in a Question and Answer session.
The event was made possible by generous sponsors Tipperary Crystal presented the Awards and Clonakilty Distillery sponsored various products as giveaways contributing to the overall celebration.
With Fianna Fail Chief Whip Cormac Devlin emphasising Golf's importance to tourism and the economy, over 130 guests enjoyed a five course Dinner commemorating the launch of Golfers Guide to Ireland 33rd year.
