SEVEN LIMERICK girls impressed during the FAI U15 tournament over the weekend which acts as a stepping stone for players during the upcoming International trials.

The Munster squad won two of there three games while falling short to Leinster who eventually won the tournament outright.

In the first game of the weekend the Munster team faced Ulster where they came away with a comprehensive 4-0 victory with goals from Limerick's Madison McGuane and Jessica Meade scoring goals.

Captain McGuane of Ardscoil Mhuire, Corbally was selected as player of the match for Munster in their victory over Ulster. Déjá vu for the young Limerick scholar as she received the same accolade last season in the same fixture.

The province then moved onto day two of the tournament where they faced Connacht where again the Treaty ladies made an impression on the game.

Eva Loftus of Laurel Hill Coláiste, Limerick netted one of two goals for the side and was awarded player of the game after their 2-0 win.

Munster were then left to play Leinster on the final day of matches, where unfortunately they fell short on a scoreline of 3-1. Munster lead at the half but constant pressure from Leinster saw them edge ahead after the break and win the FAI U15 tournament this year.
