Successful bank holiday weekend for Limerick basketball teams in National League

THE LIMERICK national league basketball teams have found their form again after a successful bank holiday weekend full of games. 

Three out of the four teams in action came away with wins over the weekend and with National Cup around the corner it is a perfect time for the teams to be hitting their stride. 

In the InsureMyVan.ie mens national league Limerick Sport Eagles suffered an uncharacteristic loss at home in the UL Arena to Mater Private Malahide. 

Eagles struggled to get the ball in the hoop during the third quarter and the Dublin side did just enough to come away with a 95-82 win. 

Limerick Celtics mens team had a confident victory over Killarney Cougars at home. Celtic's players Miles Felletti-O'Donnell and Eoghan Donaghy both racked up over 20 points alongside their American players Michael Hood and Justin Motley to give them a 118-89 win.

In the MissQuote.ie women's national league Limerick Sport Huskies came away with a 99-52 win over SETU Carlow who are struggling to make any foot hold in this years league. 

Scout Frame was once again top scorer for Huskies with 24 points followed by Ashling McGann on 17 points. 

Limerick Celtics ladies team did just enough to get a win against Moy Tolka Rovers on home soil. The Dublin team only scored eight points in the final quarter gifting Celtics the 66-55 win.
