NEWCASTLE West native, Claire O'Riordan has linked back up with the Republic of Ireland squad after their trip to Australia for the women's soccer World Cup last month.
It was an incredible achievement for Claire to be named in the Irish World Cup squad where the team faced stiff opposition in co-hosts Australia, Canada and Zambia, eventually bowing out after the three group games.
The former Newcastle West camogie player did not feature in any of the games under Vera Pauws coaching set-up but this could all change in the upcoming UEFA women's national league.
Ireland will face Northern Ireland this Saturday, September 23 in the opening fixture of the league where the team will play in the Aviva Stadium in Dublin for the first time in history.
Three days later they will face Hungary away on September 26 before nearly a month gap before their next fixture.
Albania is the remaining team in the group with Ireland having to face the three sides both home and away in this women's national league.
O'Riordan has recently signed with Belgian side Standard Liége alongside fellow Irish teammate Amber Barrett.
Both players will be hoping to gain more Irish caps during this Autumn campaign for Ireland.
