TREATY United's promotion play-off hopes in the SSE Airtricity League First Division reaches a critical stage this Friday when Tommy Barrett's charges face Bray Wanderers at the Carlisle Grounds, 7.45pm.

Eighth-placed Treaty United fell eight points off the play-off places in the wake of a frustrating 2-1 home defeat to Wexford FC at the Markets Field on Friday night last.

Ben O’Riordan bagged Treaty’s only goal of the game before late strikes from Danny Furlong and Kian Corbally saw the visitors claim the three precious league points on offer.

Treaty played with ten men for the majority of the second half after Lee Devitt was sent off having picked up two yellow cards. His absence was sorely felt by the hosts as the game progressed.

There are now just six series of regular season fixtures to go in the First Division.

Friday night's opponents Bray Wanderers sit one place and one point ahead of Treaty United in the league table.

Following Friday night's trip to Bray, Treaty utd host Athlone Town at the Markets Field on September 22. Treaty then face an away date with Longford Town before two home meeting against Finn Harps and runaway leaders Galway United.

Treaty round off their regular season away to Waterford FC at the RSC on Friday, October 20.
