UL VIKINGS won the division one cup after victory over Louth Mavericks on Sunday last.
Vikings have gone undefeated throughout their 2023 season and won the cup on a scoreline of 6-2.
Play was suspended for a period due to thunder and lightning in the city, but that did not deter the Limerick side who dominated the end of the game.
Vikings conceded a safety giving Louth Mavericks two points once play resumed but UL quickly responded.
Aidan Maher scored the only touchdown for UL in a game that was heavily dominated by defence for large periods of play.
Adam Keane was awarded player of the match through his quick reactions after getting two interceptions in the match.
Through this win UL Vikings will now be promoted to the Premier Division of the Irish American Football league.
