The Limerick District Gaynor Cup squad 2023
THREE Limerick sides are competing in the Gaynor Cup U14 inter-league schoolgirl football competition at the University of Limerick this week.
The action for the Limerick County, Limerick Desmond and competition newcomers, the Limerick District League, sides begin this Bank Holiday Monday from 4pm at UL.
A total of 26 inter-league teams are competing in the event which is the schoolgirl equivalent of the Kennedy Cup which will be held at UL next week.
The Limerick Desmond side are in Group 2 of the competition alongside the Galway, North Tipp SFL and Inishowen Leagues. Gaynor Cup first timers, Limerick District. have been drawn in Group 3 where their opposition will comprise of the Mayo, Carlow and District and Wexford Lagues.
Limerick County have been drawn in Group 4 of this year's Gaynor Cup where their opponents will include the Waterford District, Clare and NECSL Leagues.

Action in the group stages of the Gaynor Cup kicks-off this Bank Holiday Monday at 4pm.
Limerick Desmond open their campaign against the North Tipp SFC in Group 2 at 4pm, while at the same time, in Group 3, Limerick District take on the Carlow League.
Two hours later, at 6pm, it will be Limerick County's turn to begin their programme of fixtures as they face the Waterford League in Group 4.
The group games will continue on tomorrow, Tuesday.
