Treaty United manager Tommy Barrett
TREATY United will look to make it back-to-back wins in the SSE Airtricity League First Division this Bank Holiday Monday when travelling to the Carlisle Grounds to face Bray Wanderers, 3pm.
Treaty claimed only their second win of the season on Friday night when beating Kerry FC 4-0 at the Markets Field to move into eighth place in the First Division table.
Manager Tommy Barrett was pleased with the convincing victory over their Munster rivals.
“It was a good win for us, we’re happy to have it," Barrett said.
Kerry have improved immensely since the last time we played them. To score four goals and keep a clean sheet, we’re delighted with it. It’s the first clean sheet of the season which I’m happy about.”
Today's trip to Bray is the second of three games Treaty United play in the space of just seven days as Athlone Town visit the Markets Field this Friday night, 7.45pm.
Tommy Barrett knows that a positive result will be hard-earned from today's trip to the Carlisle Grounds to face fourth-placed Bray Wanderers.
“It’s a tough challenge, we’re missing some experience players, particularly the likes of Marc Ludden; Mark Walsh is still out with a hamstring injury," Barrett explained.
“They’re big losses for us. Obviously Bray are a really good side but we’ll go up there and hopefully we’ll achieve a decent result.”
On the personnel front, scorer-in-chief Enda Curran has started the last two games on the bench while Marc Ludden, Conor Winn, Josh Quinlivan and Fionn Doherty are all nursing injuries.
Barrett said: “Fionn should be back training in the next week or so; Josh Quinlivan probably has two weeks to go;
“Conor Winn has a back strain and will go for a scan next week so I’m not sure how Conor is going to be.
“Marc Ludden was on the bench tonight, he wasn’t fit enough to come on so hopefully he’ll be back soon.”
The sides last met on the opening day of the new season with Bray claiming a 1-0 victory. Treaty will be intent on overturning that result and securing successive wins for the first time this year.
