Steven Lawless nets late equaliser for Partick Thistle against Hamilton

Steven Lawless denied second-bottom Hamilton a precious win in their battle to stay in the Scottish Championship with a late equaliser securing a 2-2 draw for fourth-placed Partick.

The visitors struck the opener before the half-hour mark when Kyle Turner’s lifted ball towards the back post was nodded in by Brian Graham.

The Accies equalised eight minutes later after Connor Smith’s corner was met by Daniel O’Reilly for his fifth goal of the season.

Hamilton thought they had the winner in the 89th minute when O’Reilly headed in his second of the afternoon.

But Partick equalised in stoppage time when the ball fell for Lawless inside the area and he drilled home, leaving Hamilton in the relegation play-off spot and three points from safety.
