Nottingham Forest have confirmed the appointment of former Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson as the club’s new chief football officer.
Forest targeted Wilson following the departure of their sporting director Filippo Giraldi as they look to preserve their place in the Premier League.
Forest confirmed the appointment in a short statement on Wednesday night, saying Wilson will begin the role with immediate effect.

Wilson had been locked in talks with Forest officials and an agreement was reached between the two parties earlier on Wednesday.
The 39-year-old Wilson spent four years at Ibrox and helped Rangers win their 55th top-flight title and break their transfer record twice.
However, Wilson had been the focus of some unrest among supporters who were dissatisfied with the club’s recruitment policy last summer.
