Talented Limerick teenager helps Ireland to Nations Cup win in Belgium

TALENTED young Limerick horseman Kian Dore, of Kilcornan, enjoyed a successful FEI (Federation Equestrian International) Youth Festival in Belgium.

At Sentower Park in Opglabbeek, the highly-trated 15-year-old, a Junior Cycle student at Rathkeale’s Coláiste na Trócaire, helped Ireland to win the Nations Cup.

At the outset, Kian guided both Sparkling Lackaghmore and Dulk du Thyme to jumped double clear rounds in the CS10P 1.25 class, which secured him a place on the Nation’s Cup Team.

Jumping on Sparking Lackaghmore Joey the following afternoon, Kian secured a double clear round to help his country to secure a famous international win. Kian’s teammates were Gary Dooley, Alana Fagan and Paddy Reape. The Ireland Chef d’Equipe was Gary Marshall, while Kian’s trainer was Michael Condon.

To crown a memorable few days’, the exciting county Limerick rider later won the 139 speed class on Dulk du Thyme and then the 130 Grand Prix on Lackaghmore Joey.
