The victorious All-Ireland Limerick Celtics U14 team
LIMERICK Celtics are celebrating a national title this week following a victory over Templeogue in the All-Ireland U14 Girls Premium Division Final in Gormanstown on Sunday last.
The Limerick side earned a 46-12 win and they became the first team from the city and county to win the title in what is a major boost for basketball in the area.
En-route to the decider, Limerick Celtics also beat Templeogue, Firhouse and St Mary's in the group stage. Carrick Cruisers and Tralee Magic were next to fall before the win in the final that completed six wins from their six games.
