The Catholic Institute squad is flying high joint top of the EYHL Division 1 Women's Hockey League after securing a brace of home wins against Harlequins and Old Alex last weekend
THE Catholic Institute women's senior hockey side had a double win at home last weekend in Division 1 of the EYHL.
On Saturday Institute defeated Ulster side Belfast Harlequins 6-0. Irish international Naomi Carroll opened the scoring with further goals following from Michelle Barrett, Roisin Begley, Eimear Ryan, and Leah Cleary.

On Sunday, Catholic Institute defeated Dublin side Old Alex 2-0 with goals from Laura Foley and Aoife Hickey.
These wins means that Institute are now in joint first place with Dublin sides Loreto and UCD in the All-Ireland Senior League, all on 28 points.
There are now 14 series of fixtures played in the league. Catholic Institure have won eight, drawn four and lost two of those 14 league fixtures to date this season.
Next Saturday, Institute head north to play Ards and on Sunday they are in Dublin to play Railway Union.
Saturday's opponents Ards currently sit in eighth place in the league table, with Sunday's opposition Railway Union one spot above the Ulster side in seventh spot.
Following their success last season Institute are now heading to the European Club Championships. Details of the EuroHockey Club Challenge I (W) competition have recently been announced. The prestigious event is being held in Alanya, Turkey, from May 26 to 29 2023.
Institute have been drawn in Pool A, together with SK Slavia Prague (Czech Republic), Watsonians HC (Scotland), and Navaz AHTC (Austria)
