Treaty United lose out to Galway in First Division at Eamonn Deacy Park

TREATY United slipped to their second successive defeat at the start of the new SSE Airtricity League First Division season when going down 1-0 to Galway United at Eamon Deacy Park on Friday night.

Galway United scored the only goal of the game in the 37th minute when Rob Slevin headed home from Donnellan's corner.

This was a second 1-0 defeat in the space of a week for Treaty who had lost 1-0 at home to Bray Wanderers on the opening night of the league season.

Treaty United are one of four teams in the First Division yet to pick up a point in the First Division this season.

Treaty United manager Tommy Barrett made two changes to his starting line-up for the game with debutant Andy Spain and  Willie Armshaw come into the starting line-up as Dean George and Colin Conroy dropped to the bench. New signing Alec Byrne was included in Treaty's matchday squad for the first time.

Next up for Treaty United in a big Munster derby against league newcomers Kerry FC at a sold-out Mounthawk Park on Friday night next at 7.45pm.
