Three Limerick District League sides learn last 16 FAI Junior Cup draw

The sixth round draw has been made for the FAI Junior Cup

THE draw has been made for the last 16 stage of the FAI Junior Cup which includes three Limerick sides.

Nine-time FAI Junior Cup winners Fairview Rangers have been drawn away to Wexford side Gorey Rangers. Fairview, winners in 2019/2020 earned their place in the sixth round of the Cup after defeating Athenry, of Galway, on penalties after the sides drew 2-2 in their fifth round tie on Sunday last.

Elsewhere, in the sixth round of the FAI Junior Cup, Regional United have been handed a home draw against Newmarket Celtic, of Clare.

The third Limerick side to reach the last 16 stage of the competition, Ballynanty Rovers, impressive 5-0 winners in the previous round last weekend, have been drawn away to Dublin side, Old County FC.

Elsewhere, in the draw, Kerry District League side Killarney Celtic face a tough trip up to Dublin to face Leinster Senior League side Tallaght United. 

The draw, completed this Wednesday at FAI HQ, Abbotstown by Competitions Manager Fran Gavin and Villa FC goalkeeper Craig Dunphy, also saw St. Michael's AFC, winner in the 2018/19 season, face Waterford side Hibernian FC. 

Clare side Avenue United, 8-0 winners over St. Mary's AFC in the fifth round, face a trip to Galway to face Colga FC, whilst Sandyhill Shangan FC face a short trip to Crumlin United in an all-Dublin affair.

All matches set to be played on the week-ending February 12.
