Ben Healy in action for Munster Rugby against the Lions at Musgrave Park this month
MUNSTER Rugby out-half Ben Healy has been included in the Scotland squad for the upcoming Guinness Six Nations Championship.
Healy, who will move to Edinburgh from Munster ahead of the 2023/24 season, qualifies to play for Scotland through his maternal grandparents, having represented Ireland at under-20 level.
Earlier this month, Munster Rugby confirmed Healy would depart the province at the end of this season.
Scotland face England in their opening game of the Six Nations at Twickenham on February 4.
Munster revealed that the province had offered the 23-year-old an extended contract and made every effort to retain the services of the talented out-half.
Head Coach Graham Rowntree commented: “We are hugely disappointed to see Ben depart at the end of the season.
“I’ve noted all along our desire to bring through and develop homegrown talent so to lose a player of Ben’s calibre is tough to take.
“As a young player Ben is striving to achieve his career goals, and we fully understand his professional aspirations and the journey he is on."
Garryowen clubman Ben Healy has made 48 appearances for the province to date with five starts at out-half so far this season.
