CASTLE United’s Club Secretary, Dave Leahy, has received national recognition at the Volunteer in Sport Awards 2025.
Castle United AFC is a grassroots football club, based on Martinstown, in the heart of Sporting Limerick.
Established in 2009, the club is a cornerstone of the local community in south Limerick, fostering a love of the game of football while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork & community spirit.
On Thursday, February 26, the Volunteer in Sport Awards 2025 were hosted by the Federation of Irish Sport and supported by the National Network of 29 Local Sports Partnerships including the Limerick Sports Partnership.
The event took place at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Blanchardstown, Dublin.
Accompanied by his wife Jackie, Club stalwart Dave Leahy, was presented with his award by Minister of State at the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport Charlie McConalogue TD and Federation of Irish Sport chair Clare McGrath.
