AISLING Annacotty Women and Girls Soccer has grown and developed massively since the Women's team was restarted by John Kelly in 2015 culminating in our most successful year ever this year.

There are over 230 girls playing soccer in Aisling Annacotty. The girls train twice a week and play competitive matches on Sundays.

With girls soccer growing in popularity across the Country. It’s great to see so many young girls taking part in the sport. At Aisling it’s about being part of a team and a community. Our girls regularly go to Dublin to support the Irish women's team, last week we had over 50 players attend the Ireland game v Wales in the Aviva.

Aisling Annacotty is one of the largest soccer clubs in Munster with over 1,000 registered players. We have an army of volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the club, between coaches, admin, committees and the club shop. If it wasn’t for all the volunteers in the club, there wouldn’t be soccer for all these young girls.

Vicki McCarthy has been head of Women’s and Girls soccer in Aisling Annacotty for the last three years. She has the support behind her from a hard-working committee along with a team of coaches. All of these girls are so lucky to have high level
coaching that is planned out and executed from our Director of Soccer Derek McCarthy. Derek enables all the teams to work on their skills and development. We really are spoilt to have this in place. Not many clubs have this level of training available.

We were extremely lucky when Ray O’Halloran came to Aisling Annacotty. He started out as our Head Coach for the Women’s Team. Not only did he coach these amazing sports women to win their first league title for Aisling Annacotty, he also
coaches our U19/U17/U16 and U15’s teams. His knowledge of soccer and implementing of drills and skills has been invaluable in developing our Women’s and Girls soccer.

All the underage teams have their own coaches who work off a developed plan set out by Derek McCarthy. Our coaches show up week in and week out to develop our talented younger players.

It’s great to have women involved in Aisling Annacotty. We are blessed to have the support from all these women: Vicki McCarthy, Róisín Monaghan, Bridget MacCraith, Leanne Downes, Heather Roche, Rachel Begley, Megan Foley, Aoife Brady and Caroline O’hAodha.

Each season we have girls playing for Limerick County from Under 12s up to Under 16s along with some progressing on to League of Ireland. Some continue to train with us in their off season along with helping out in our Soccer Camps.
