Ryder Cup Europe has released this impression of how the 14th hole at Adare Manor may appear during next year’s tourmanent in the venue

A TOP Limerick garda has warned that next year’s Ryder Cup tournament in Adare will give an opportunity to “bad actors” looking to scam people.
Superintendent Michael Fleming has warned people looking to lock in tickets and accommodation for next year’s golf showpiece to exercise caution.
In a newsletter, delivered to homes across Adare, he wrote: “Fraudsters are always looking for opportunities to target unsuspecting people and the impact of their efforts can be significant. The heightened profile of Adare, now and in the run up to September 2027, will create opportunities for these bad actors to develop fraudulent websites purporting to sell tickets, accommodation, merchandise, travel packages and every other event-related activity you can imagine.”
Supt Fleming urged people to ensure that the website addresses are secure and verified - and asked anyone coming across anything they feel is malicious to report it to the gardai.
“I must stress that once you make payments to these sites, it can be very difficult and often impossible to recover these funds,” he added.
An array of accommodation is already appearing online for the September 2027 tournament, but the organisers will be holding back some rooms.
The advice is to lock in accommodation once you have secured tickets. General admission tickets for the Europe v USA golf competition are set to go on sale later this spring.
A range of accommodation is to be available from five-star hotels, to cruise ships, alongside camping and glamping options.
According to organisers prices for tickets will be clear, concise and transparent.

In a letter to Adare residents, Richard Atkinson, the chief Ryder Cup officer of Ryder Cup Europe, confirmed a certain proportion of tickets will be kept aside for people living in the community immediate to Adare Manor.
He wrote these tickets “will be given in the spirit of co-operation the community has already shown and will continue to show as we begin the build towards September 2027.”
It’s anticipated residents of Adare will receive an individual letter in the next few weeks outlining the detail of what he has described as a “community ticket allocation,” and who can avail of it.
Grandstands and hospitality venues will be purpose built on the grounds of Adare Manor.
It’s expected this will kick off around this time next year.
Meanwhile, there’s been a huge response to the appeal for volunteers seeking to be a part of the huge tournament.
So far, more than 35,000 people from 87 different countries have applied to be one of only 2,000 volunteers.

Mr Atkinson said: “There may be 16 months still to go until the 2027 Ryder Cup comes to Adare Manor and Limerick, but there is already considerable excitement across the island of Ireland. We are making good progress with all elements of our planning and preparation for next year’s event, which is set to be one of the biggest sporting events ever to be staged in Ireland. We look forward to making some notable announcements in the coming months, including details of how Irish fans can get tickets and ensure they are part of the 100th anniversary of golf’s greatest team contest when it returns to Ireland for the first time since 2006.”
