The event which will be MC’d by former Munster/UL Bohs star and band member of Hermitage Green Barry Murphy. The event will entail a conversation with Irish centurion Keith Earls and a discussion with former women’s grand slam winner Fiona Hayes and world cup winner BJ Botha both of whom are head coaches with UL Bohs RFC senior teams.
UL Bohs RFC are honoured to partner up Down Syndrome Limerick who are also based in Castletroy/Monaleen area and provide vital support to families and individuals with Down Syndrome throughout their life, through a range of Social, Education and Development activities.
Down Syndrome Limerick is an associated branch of Down Syndrome Ireland but it is independently funded and receives no government funding.
All funds are raised through fundraising events either run by DSL or run by companies, individuals or sports clubs on our behalf as is the case with Thursdays event. UL Bohs RFC have commenced a relationship with DSL through this event and look forward to building it further in the coming years.
In the lead up to the event attendees of Down Syndrome Limerick partook in a fun rugby session with our senior men’s and women’s players and coaches on the fabulous grounds of UL campus and they also had a special classroom visit from the Ireland U20’s captain and UL Bohs RFC player Evan Connell.
