SHANNON RFC hosted City of Armagh on the back pitch at Thomond Park on Saturday in Division 1A of the All-Ireland League.
The Limerick side had won their opening two fixtures in the top flight, but succumbed 13-25 to the Division 1A newcomers who were picking up their first win of the league campaign.
Shannon sit in fourth place in the Division 1A table after three rounds of fixtures. The Parish side returns to action in the league when the competition resumes on Saturday, November 4 against Ballynahinch at Ballymacarn Park.
