OLD CRESCENT RFC have unveiled their new coaching staff ahead of the new season and it contains a current Munster player as well as several other noted names.

Rory Scannell is dipping his feet into the coaching water by taking over as the club's Attack and Backs coach. Scannell recently signed a new two-year-deal to remain a Munster player.

Eugene McGovern is once again in as Director of Rugby and is entering his 10th year in that position. Former player Shane Mullally is making the step up from Attack and Backs coach to take over the head coaching role.

Cathal O'Reilly continues the Old Crescent link with the former captain taking over as forwards coach, while Peter Murray continues his role as skills coach.

International referee Andy Brace will also be involved in the coaching ticket as a breakdown and transition consultant. Jeff Henaghan also returns as strength and conditioning coach and will be joined in that capacity by Ken Byrnes.

Old Crescent get their season underway on Saturday when they make the trip to Clonmel RFC for their first game of the new-look Munster Senior Cup. Crescent open the AIL season in Division 2A at home with a fixture against MU Barnhall on Saturday, October 7.
