LIMERICK'S Caolan Dooley and Luke Clohessy played a crucial in helping Terenure lift the All-Ireland League Division 1A trophy at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Newcastle West native and former Glenstal Abbey student Dooley finished with an incredible haul of 30 points in the 50-24 win over Clontarf that saw the Dublin club to their first ever title.

Clohessy, who was a Munster Academy member, former Irish U20 player and also played club rugby with Shannon, had a fine season overall for Terenure.

Dooley earned high praise from ex Munster, Ireland and Lions out-half Ronan O'Gara for his outstanding performance.

The Terenure kicker also won a Senior Cup with Glenstal in 2018 outside current Munster and Scotland out-half Ben Healy when they beat CBC on an 18-17 scoreline.

He has also a GAA background, captaining the west Limerick side to Sarsfield Cup glory as a primary school youngster back in 2012.

Terenure were led to victory by former Garryowen and Glenstal coach Sean Skehan.
