YOUNG MUNSTER remain the best placed Limerick side in the All-Ireland League (AIL) top flight following the latest round of fixtures last weekend.

Gearoid Prendergast's side solidified their 1A play-off position with a 15-10 away win against Lansdowne. Munsters' were seven points down at the break but second half tries from Stephen Lyons and Shay McCarthy, as well as five points from the boot of Evan Cuscak, saw them to victory in their Division 1A contest.

They remain five points ahead of fifth-placed Ballynahinch ahead of their next AIL fixture against UCD on Saturday, March 25. The Cookies then make the trip to Garryowen, before finishing with a home fixture against Cork Constitution.

Shannon remain in the relegation play-off spot following a 33-3 loss to table toppers Clontarf at Thomond Park's back pitch. The Parish trailled by 12-3 at the break with out-half Mike Cooke kicking a penalty. However, it was a one-sided second half with Clontarf running in five tries in total.

Stephen Keogh's side make the trip to third place Cork Constitution in their next game, before hosting Ballynahinch a week later.

Shannon are three points off moving out of the relegation play-off position with both UCD and Lansdowne on their radar with three games of the regular season to go.

Garryowen lost out to Cork Con on a 29-21 scoreline in their game at Dooradoyle. It was a big effort from the already relegated Light Blues that ultimately fell short against a strong Con outfit.

At this stage, Garryowen are playing for pride in their remaining three games which begin with a trip to second-placed Terenure on Saturday week.

In Division 2A, UL Bohemian gave their hopes of staying up a timely boost with a precious 27-24 win over Dolphin in Annacotty.

Bohs' remain in the relegation play-off spot but are now just five points off eighth placed Navan. They make the trip to seventh in the table Ballymena in their next outing.

Old Crescent are in sixth place in 2A following a 22-21 away victory against Navan. The result should be enough to see the Rosbrien outfit away from relegation trouble but would like a win from their remaining games to make sure. They welcome third placed Blackrock in their next fixture.#

In Division 2C, Bruff are back in the promotion hunt following a 15-13 victory over Bangor at Kilballyowen Park. Bruff are just four points off fourth placed Clonmel ahead of their next fixture, a trip to second placed Skerries.
