Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway, on the Wild Atlantic Way. Halka is situated at the foothills of the rocky hazel mountains in the Burren.

From your guest suite have a coffee with a stunning view of the mountains, or take an early morning dip in the plunge pool. Unwind in the evening with a hot stone sauna and a movie in the cinema room.

Halka’s unique style and construction have lead the house to be featured on the Home of the year TV Show in February 2024.

Homeowners John and Kasha started their journey of building their contemporary house, where they now live with their daughter.

They were conscious of the environment when building the home and wanted a grass roof as a place for wildlife and bees to live.

Their home has a natural cooling breezeway designed for the summer months that brings the outside in, and, after working with the Jon Eliason Studio in Sweden to draft the concept of the living space and kitchen of their house, they decided on a 20-foot-high ceiling in the main room to allow the spectacular scenery to be a part of the space.

This Airbnb is on the property with the homeowners but remains private.

Some of the property features include:
Independent room with en-suite, has its own private access, coffee making facilities and four poster bed.  Dog friendly. There is no kitchen.
Plunge pool, sauna, cinema room.
Location is in the Burren Mountains along the scenic Wild Atlantic Way, 40 minute drive from Galway city.

There are lots of walking trails and historical sites in the area, with Hazel Mountain Chocolate factory within two minute walk.
