THOUSANDS enjoyed Lumen Street Theatre's spooky parade on the streets of Limerick city on Saturday night.
Young and not so young lined the streets to watch Spirits of the Forest in reclaiming their ancient pathways and habitats, shadowed by a host of Absentee Landlords burdened with keys and tithes. These ghosts of the city’s past prowled the alleyways, all the while seeking a bargain or a steal.
Lumen Street Theatre is a gang of creative makers that produce spectacle and street magic through pageantry and puppetry. Their work is made in the former Bannatyne grain store in the heart of Limerick city, where the space informs new ways of interpreting stories.
The parade was co-funded by Limerick City and County Council, Fáilte Ireland, the Night Time Economy Unit in the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media and the Arts Council of Ireland.
Photographer Brian Arthur was there to capture all the action.
