WITH YET another highly successful Charleville Show under his belt, chairman Billy Biggane is “really delighted” with how the weekend went.
Mr Biggane is over the moon with the numbers that visited the showgrounds over the weekend, saying that every trade stand was bustling with customers and each show was full.
With huge lines of traffic reported on roads going towards the showgrounds on Sunday, it is no wonder that Mr Biggane believes that they had a “record-breaking crowd”, estimating the turnout to be around 15,000 people.
He proudly reports that they provided enough car parking to match the “massive crowd” that turned out over the course of the two-day event.
Asked what the highlight of the Charleville Show was for him, Mr Biggane said he could not possibly pick just one aspect, claiming it was like asking him to name his favourite child.

While most would assume Mr Biggane and his team would be spending the week relaxing after their successful Show, the chairman was in the fields clearing up when speaking to this reporter.
They must “get everything disconnected, things taken away and all the rubbish must be picked up”, according to Mr Biggane, as the fields will be reverted back to agricultural use as soon as possible.
The chairman explained that preparations for next year’s Charleville Show will begin in eight weeks’ time to ensure the show keeps growing bigger and better each year.
Mr Biggane thanked the landowners in the area for the use of their land for the event, both for parking cars and for parts of the show.
He also thanked the sponsors and the volunteers, without whom the event would not have been possible.
He expressed his gratitude to the people that came to the Charleville Show and made it such a successful event.
