A 66-year-old man who is wanted in Hungary to serve a multi-year sentence has been arrested in Northern Ireland.
He was arrested by local policing officers in North Belfast, with assistance from the International Policing Unit.
The man is expected to appear before an extradition court in Belfast in the coming days.
Sergeant Davey, from the International Policing Unit, said: “This arrest demonstrates the ability of our local policing teams to identify and arrest those wanted internationally.
“The Police Service of Northern Ireland will continue to work with our international partners to locate and arrest those sought for extradition.”
The man is wanted to serve a prison sentence in Hungary of six years and two months over fraud and money laundering offences.
