After a series of well attended meetings in Garrydoolis NS, plans for this Summer’s festival are being put together by a newly formed committee made up of various citizens from the parish. While these plans are at an early stage they are being developed further at each meeting and all in attendence agree that the Sarsfield 320 Festival has excellent potential for both the young and the old in the area. Starting with an official opening on Thursday evening July 25th the festival will consist of sporting events, historical talks and walks, crossroads dancing, trad music sessions, childrens funday, sports day, BBQ’s, live music,5km walk and of course, culminating in a Memorial Service and laying of wreaths for Patick Sarsfield on Sunday July 28th,(the eve of his death in 1693, Landen, Belgium) at Templebraden Church, Ballyneety.
