LIMERICK’S competitors at the National Ploughing Championships next week were in good form at the local event on Saturday.
The County Limerick Ploughing championships were held on the lands of Gordon Shine in Tuogh, Adare.
For the first time in forty years it was held on a Saturday and before the national event.
Ger Downey, PRO, said it was a great success.
“The sun shone brightly making it a great day for ploughing. Competitors came from four Munster counties and this year there was also a competitor from Sligo. Coleman Cogan gave a wonderful display of ploughing with horses,” said Ger.
Michael John Dillane, Milford, and Pat O’Riordan, Rathkeale, pictured above, who will be representing County Limerick at the National Ploughing Championships next week won and came second in their classes respectively.
