Fuel deliveries due 'today or tomorrow' with hundreds of stations still out of fuel
Hundreds of fuel stations across the country are still without petrol and diesel, but deliveries are expected "today or tomorrow."
The Chief Executive of the Convenience Stores and Newsagents Association was speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland this morning.
It represents 300 filling stations, and has warned that it will be "quite some time before things return to normal."
Vincent Jennings said many stations still have no fuel this morning, with over 600 having none yesterday.
He added that because of the protests, companies now have to limit the amount of fuel they are delivering to stations.

"When you've created this difficulty, this vacuum in deliveries that has to be filled, and it's going to be filled by split loads ... instead of getting a full load, you might get a third of a load or half a load to carry you through. So it's going to take quite some time before it's fully back to normal," he explained.
Vincent has added that if there are no further disruptions, service should resume as normal within six days.
However, the cessation of disruptions is unlikely, as a number of protests continue to take place across the country this morning.
The Communications Director of Transport Infrastructure Ireland has requested that the hard shoulder of motorways be kept clear, though.
"It's for emergency vehicles and emergency trips, whatever your actions are on the motorway network, please keep those open," Sean O'Neill.
