A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in Kildare.
The man, aged in his 20s, was found unresponsive in McGee Terrace in Kildare town in the early hours of Sunday.
Gardai confirmed on Thursday that he had since died in hospital.
On Friday, following a post-mortem examination, a Garda spokesperson said officers has now begun a murder investigation.
They issued an appeal to the public for anyone with information to come forward.
“Gardai are continuing to appeal to anyone with information in relation to this incident,” they said.
“Any road users who were in the area between 2am and 4am and who may have video footage (including dashcam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardai.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Kildare Garda Station on 045 527730, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
