My 1st Years personalised Pink Bunny toy poses potential choking hazard to children
Parents and guardians are being advised to take action after a possible choking hazard was identified on a cuddly children's toy, dozens of which have been sold in Ireland.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has issued a Product Safety Information Notice regarding the My 1st Years personalized Pink Bunny Rabbit Activity Toy due to the safety issue.
According to the notice, the protective film on the foot of the rabbit to protect the mirror should be removed prior to giving the toy to a child because if not removed, it creates the potential risk of a child choking on the plastic film.
According to the CCPC, the impacted model number is 50112729 and the batch number is 06/24. There are approximately 40 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.

A spokesperson for My 1st Years explained: “The warning sticker is missing from the plastic film covering on the mirror on the bunnies back foot that is applied for protection during transit.”
The CCPC says any consumers with the Pink Bunny Activity Toy should ensure that the protective film is removed from the toy before giving the toy to a child. "Once removed the toy is safe for use,” it added.
Commenting following the issuing of the Notice, a spokesperson for My 1st Years, said: “This product passed all relevant safety testing, and, at My 1st Years, we are committed to delivering superior gifts and would never knowingly distribute an item that may pose a potential safety risk.”
