Gardaí have issued a reminder for people to respect disabled parking bays after two drivers were caught parking illegally at a busy seaside carpark in Dublin over the weekend.

Two people were spotted by gardaí parked in disabled bays without permits at Dollymount Beach in Clontarf.

In a post on social media, An Garda Síochána said that one of the drivers told them: "I'll move when someone with a disabled permit wants to park."

Both of the drivers were issued with fines for parking in the disabled parking bays without permits.

An Garda Síochána signed off the post by saying: "Please respect disabled parking bays."
