Lidl confirms plans to reward Irish customers as new points scheme is launched
To mark its 25 year anniversary in Ireland, Lidl have launched a new Lidl Points rewards scheme on their Lidl Plus app.
There will be a special 25-point rewards boost for all Lidl Plus app users on the launch day to celebrate the anniversary.
From Thursday 26th June, Lidl Ireland customers using the Lidl Plus App can start collecting points when shopping in store by scanning their Lidl Plus app or entering their mobile phone number at checkout to receive one point for every €1 spent.
Lidl Points can be exchanged via the Lidl Plus app against free products in-store or monetary coupons to save on their next shop.
The new Lidl Points rewards scheme is being rolled out across all 229 stores across the island of Ireland following a successful trial in a selection of Lidl stores.
Since the launch of the trial in September 2023, over €3 million in rewards have been claimed, with shoppers redeeming points against a range of popular items including customer favourites from Lidl’s fresh bakery.
Chief Customer Officer for Lidl Ireland & Northern Ireland Ivan Ryan said; “The Lidl Points rewards scheme has been a huge hit with our shoppers and is one of the many ways we continue to reward our customers through the Lidl Plus app. Trial users were highly satisfied with the scheme, and we’ve seen that reflected in redemption rates of money off vouchers and coupons for free products.

As Ireland’s best value retailer, we are always exploring new ways to bring value to our customers. This new rewards scheme represents a fresh offering to customers and enables shoppers to choose how they want to be rewarded, on top of our already market leading prices.
We’ve seen a real shift in customer shopping habits over the last number of months and shoppers have never been more price conscious.
The new Lidl Points scheme not only extends our shopper rewards, but it’s the only scheme that allows customers to pick specific items to save on, when they want to, empowering shoppers to benefit from discounts in the way that they choose and brings a more personalised rewards scheme experience compared to some other retailers.
We’re delighted to roll out this new reward programme as we mark our 25th anniversary in Ireland and we look forward to seeing even more shopper’s benefit.”
Since Lidl Ireland first opened its doors in 2000, launching stores in Limerick, Letterkenny, Mullingar, Athlone, Cavan, Ballinasloe, and Portlaoise, it has grown exponentially and welcomes over 1.5 million shoppers every week, with its high quality at best value brand proposition continuing to resonate strongly with consumers.
