Learner driver travelling at shocking speed arrested for no insurance or tax for nine years

While carrying out a routine speed check over the bank holiday weekend, gardaí in Kildare were shocked as they came across a motorcyclist breaking the speed limit by more than double- travelling at 122km/h in a 60km/h zone.

Taking place in Donadea, located in County Kildare, the gardaí initially pulled over the driver of the motorbike and upon completing their enquiries, they uncovered that the driver was in fact a learner. 

Along with this, it was also revealed that the vehicle had no tax or insurance for an astonishing nine years. 

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána in Kildare confirmed: "They were arrested. Court to follow."
