Gardaí seize cars from two learner drivers in identical St Patrick's Day busts
Gardaí stopped two learner drivers on opposite sides of the country on St Patrick's Day for speeding which then led to more offences being discovered.
On Monday night, gardaí on patrol on the N67 at Oranmore in Galway detected a car travelling 144km/h in a 100km/h zone. When they stopped the car, they found that the driver was an unaccompanied learner who had no L plates displayed.
Gardaí then seized the car and the driver is due to appear in court.
We were on patrol on the N67 at Oranmore, Co. Galway last night when we detected this car travelling at 144km/h in a 100km/h area.

They were were stopped and we found that the driver was an unaccompanied learner with no L-Plates.
The car was seized.

Earlier that day, an identical situation had unfolded on the N4 in Lucan where gardaí detected a car travelling at 127km/h in a 80km/h zone while also on patrol.

That driver was also discovered as being an unaccompanied learner with no L plates. Likewise, the car was seized and the driver must appear in court.
