A woman has died after she was struck by a car in Co Kerry.
The incident, which resulted in three other people being taken to hospital, occurred shortly before 10am on the N86 Canal Road in Tralee.
Emergency services responded to a report of a collision involving an SUV vehicle and three pedestrians.
One of the pedestrians, a woman in her 40s, was taken to University Hospital Kerry, but has since died.
The other pedestrians, two adult females and the motorist, a male in his 80s, were also taken to hospital for treatment.
A gardai spokesperson said their conditions are not thought to be life-threatening.
The local coroner has been notified and the scene has been preserved for examination.
The spokesperson said: “Gardai are appealing for witnesses to this collision.
“They are particularly appealing to those with camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, from the area at the time to come forward.”
