No other injuries were reported at the scene

A five-year-old boy is in hospital with serious injuries following a road traffic collision that occurred on the R263 at Largy, Killybegs in Donegal on Friday, February 21.

At approximately 5pm, Gardaí were alerted to a collision that involved a pedestrian and car. A male pedestrian, aged just five years, was removed from the scene to Sligo University Hospital. No other injuries were reported at the scene.

The road is currently closed and local diversions are in place. The road was closed overnight as a technical examination is due to be carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators this morning, Saturday, February 22.
