Over 100,000 families in Ireland are set to receive a payment of up to €285 next week.
Families who applied for a once-off payment made to eligible people to help with the cost of sending kids back to school will receive the money automatically from July 8.
Over €65 million was secured for the Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance this year, with approximately 118,000 families set to benefit.
This year's rate of payment is €160 for children aged 4 to 11 and €285 for children aged 12 years and over in secondary school.
This includes dependents aged between 12 and 22 years of age who are returning to a recognised school or college in the autumn of the year applied.
Families entitled to the payment include those who are getting a qualifying social welfare payment, or are participating in an approved employment, education or training support scheme, and people resident in Ireland whose household income is within BSCFA limits.
