Kerry man, 31, dies after suffering from large brain aneurysm in San Francisco

A Kerry man has died after suffering from a brain aneurysm in San Francisco.

John Paul O’Mahony died at the age of 32 after suffering from a large brain aneurysm.

A fundraiser was set up for me while he was in intensive care. He sadly passed away on Saturday, June 22.

Born in Boston, John Paul moved home to Kilmoyley, Co Kerry, aged 6 with his parents and sister. It was in Ireland that he developed his love of hurling, fishing, dogs, and love of family.

In 2019, he moved to San Francisco to join his sister, Mairead, where he became a huge part of the Irish community.

John Paul will be missed by his parents, Nora May and Eddy Joe, sister Mairead, his San Francisco-based aunts and uncles, Ann Young, Hanna Costello, Denis Young, Eamon Young, Harry Young, cousin Kerry O'Mahony LaBelle, and all of his aunts, uncles, and cousins in the US and Ireland.

John Paul’s remains will be repatriated to his beloved County Kerry, Ireland, where his funeral mass and burial will take place, times to be arranged.
