The GAA has launched a new ticket assistant service which is aimed at helping people who have difficulty buying tickets for games online.
The new hotline has been launched following criticism of ticketing services, which can make it difficult for elderly supporters in particular, who may not wish or be able to save tickets on a smartphone.
Instead, people now phone a special helpline and have tickets sent to them via An Post, email or by WhatsApp.
“This new GAA Ticket Assistant is designed to first and foremost assist GAA supporters who may need or wish to avail of this service and is not intended to replace any existing ticketing channels," a letter sent to clubs outlines.
"We are asking that details of this service are circulated through your Club, Community and County network (preferably by word of mouth) advising members in your community who may benefit or wish to avail of this new "GAA Ticket Assistant" service.” The GAA Match Ticket Assistant phone number is (01) 5143322,” the letter adds.
The GAA announced earlier this year screenshots of mobile tickets will no longer work for entry, which prompted much criticism.
"Mobile tickets must be downloaded to your phone wallet in advance. Printed tickets will also be accepted," the GAA said in February.
Since the launch of the new ticket assistance service, the GAA outlined that there are many ways to purchase tickets for GAA matches including:
The organisation also reminded people to note that tickets for the GAA All-Ireland Hurling and Football finals are allocated to the county boards and the clubs.
