Teenager appears in court after cannabis worth 330,000 euro seized at airport

A teenager has appeared in court after 330,000 euro worth of cannabis was seized on Sunday.

Revenue officers seized around 16.5kgs of herbal cannabis at Dublin Airport.

The illicit drugs were discovered within vacuum-packed packages when Revenue officers stopped and searched the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight from Boston.

A man aged in his late teens was arrested by gardai and detained at a Dublin Garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

He has been charged and appeared before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin on Monday morning.

Investigations are ongoing.
