Man arrested on suspicion of murder after body found at Dublin home

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the discovery of a body in Dublin.

Gardai were alerted on Tuesday afternoon to the death of a man aged in his 60s at a home in Herberton Park, Dublin 8.

A man aged in his 30s was arrested on Wednesday morning on suspicion of murder and was being detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda station in the capital.

Forensic investigations were continuing and a post-mortem examination would be conducted later on Wednesday.

An incident room overseen by a senior investigating officer had been established in Kilmainham Garda Station.

A family liaison officer continued to engage with the family of the deceased.

Investigations were ongoing.
