NATIONAL: Murder investigation ongoing after man found dead in pool of blood in Cork
Michael Foley, the brother of the Macroom murder victim, was found dead in a property in Co Cork

Gardaí have commenced a murder investigation following the death of Michael Foley at his home in Macroom, Co Cork yesterday.
The 61-year-old man whose body was found yesterday in a pool of blood has been named as Michael Foley, whose younger brother was murdered in 2018.
Michael ‘Mickey’ Foley was found at a residence in Annville in Barrett’s Place, Macroom, Co Cork, at approximately 1pm on Tuesday. Mr Foley’s younger brother, Timmy, was murdered in 2018.
A post-mortem was completed this evening by State Pathologist, Dr. Margot Bolster at Cork University Hospital. The results of the post-mortem are not being released for operational reasons.
A spokesperson for the gardai commented: "The investigation is being led by a Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) and a Garda Family Liaison Officer (FLO) has been appointed to liaise with the family of the deceased. Examinations of the scene remain ongoing."
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have recently spoken to Michael to come forward to them.
Mr Foley’s younger brother, Timmy, was murdered in 2018.
Timmy Foley was found by gardai in a pool of blood in a bungalow in Macroom, Co Cork. He was stabbed 28 times by his ex-wife, Rita O'Driscoll.
